Drive To Want To Work

September 29, 2013 By jobadmin Leave a Comment

“The latest batch of young people lack any drive or desire to work – largely thanks to the warm, punch-drunk, sedated feeling of being permanently online to their friends on the internet,” according to Will Davies, founder of property maintenance company aspect.co.uk, London’s leading property maintenance firm with a turnover of £12m.

aspect.co.uk launched their Employment Bootcamp concept in February 2012 with the assistance of the Government’s Job Centre but have now migrated it to the commercial job-finding scheme called ‘GoThinkBig’ backed by O2 and Kiss FM. The ‘GoThinkBig’ Bootcamp by aspect.co.uk is on the 16th October 2013.

“The iPhone is always on,” says Davies. “Always in the background. Always more important than getting off your backside and getting to work for many young people,” says Davies.

“Young people today are like the vision of humanity in the film The Matrix, starring Keanu Reaves, where humans sit lifeless with a tube plugged into the back of their heads for food. In this case it’s the iPhone”.

“Steve Jobs joked about selling his first computer for $666.66666… a recurring number, but more importantly the number of the Beast”.

“There is no need or desire for a young adults to strive anymore, to apply for a job where they are forced to confront the emotion of failure”.

“That is a foreign feeling to young people”.

“The concept of physical exertion is also completely alien. Why use muscle, when you can click for whatever you want with an iPhone or iPad”.

“Instead young people are permanently encased in foetal fluid like a baby in their mother’s womb checking their iPhone or Smartphone device for pointless messages and updates”.

“The internet is full of space junk that young people unfortunately are convinced is more important than real life”.

“The virtual world has taken over from the real world”.

aspect.co.uk pioneered the concept of unemployment bootcamps in Britain where young people compete for an apprenticeship by doing physical tests, English language and numeracy tests.

“We don’t want soft touches working for us at aspect.co.uk. We want young people that can last the distance. Not people that walk out as soon as the going gets slightly tough”.

aspect.co.uk shifted recruitment from The Job Centre to GoThinkBig backed by O2 and Kiss FM for a very simple reason according to Davies.

He says: “The Job Centre doesn’t work. They are more interested in Political Correctness than finding young people jobs. We were told that young people didn’t need to respond to aspect.co.uk’s employment opportunity because they had the right not to. The right not to work. It’s barmy”.

Davies has little time for government bureaucrats like Nick Clegg.

“He makes a promise not to cripple young people with a fee hike, then stands and watches it happen”.

“His efforts to get young people into apprenticeships involve looking like you’re doing something worthy and righteous rather than actually make a difference whatsoever”.

“He will get all these big companies to create a token gesture of a job opportunity for the cameras, quite often jobs that are plucked out of thin air and don’t actually need doing”.

“We need a complete sea change in this country”.

“But firstly we need to energise our young people and stimulate them to become physical again”.
